“The social problems raised by Science must be faced and solved by the Humanities”. Isaac Asimov
The quote above notwithstanding many people believe that a career in Humanities is limited and not really job oriented. And if you are keen to pursue Humanities as a course option you are likely to face questions and comments like ‘What will you do in life?’ ‘Why don’t you do something more useful, with better scope.’
But that’s far from the truth. The options in this field are catching up very fast as students realize the kind of change they can bring about with this field.
Students of humanities are well versed in their subject, great communicators and have high people skills. They develop into well informed individuals who deal critically and logically with subjective and complex information. These qualities translate to a host of job options – Psychology, Linguistics, Hotel Management, Event management, Law, Journalism, Advertising, Design and many others. Have listed just a few of those career options in the image above.
(The word “humanities” is derived from a Renaissance Latin expression studia humanitatis, a classical Latin word meaning—in addition to “humanity”—”culture, refinement, education” and, specifically, an “education befitting a cultivated man”. ) Ref: Wikipedia
